Fat Man Media, a New Mexico-based film production company, received 5 "Indie" awards from the Indie Distribution Festival, an independent film festival based in La Jolla, CA, that recognizes filmmakers who demonstrate exceptional achievement in craft and creativity, for its short film "On the Bus."

"On the Bus" was written and produced by Jonathan Harnisch and Maureen Cooke, and directed by Wille Ford.

The five "Indie" awards "On the Bus" received include Award of Excellence for the film, Award of Excellence for its Lead Actor Mark Schrier, Award of Merit for directing, and two Awards of Merit for writing.

“We are honored to receive two awards of excellence and three awards of merit for “On the Bus,” said Maureen Cooke, an executive producer for Fat Man Media. “The “Indie Fest” rewards independent filmmakers who produce fresh standout entertainment, animation and compelling documentaries from throughout the world. We produced “On the Bus” to show the psychological effects a traumatic situation can have on an individual during routine activities such as riding a bus.”

“On the Bus” is a drama about the experiences of Larry (Mark Schrier), a mentally disturbed man, who rides a bus and bothers passengers based on recent circumstances in his life. The film has a surprise ending that startles the audience, but ties the fragmented story together in a dramatic conclusion.
