Davenport's Third Tele-Film Slated for Production
Christmas in Canaan
Contact: Donald Davenport (505) 577-3960Santa Fe screenwriter Donald Davenport will see his third film of 2009 air this December, with Hallmark Entertainment’s green-lighting production of Christmas in Canaan, announced last week.
Based on a novel co-written by Davenport and country singing legend Kenny Rogers, the film chronicles the friendship of two young boys, one white and one black, growing up in rural Texas during the turbulent 60s. Oscar-nominated actor-turned-director David Paymer is slated to direct. Howard Braunstein, Dan Angel and Margaret Loesch are Executive Producers. Davenport’s previous films, Expecting A Miracle, starring Jason Priestley, Teri Polo and Cheech Marin, and Love Finds A Home, staring Patty Duke and Haylie Duff, both aired earlier this year on the Hallmark Channel. Christmas in Canaan is scheduled to air December 12.
